There are over 10,000 street children in northern Uganda. These children face horrible conditions including no access to food, clean water, shelter, education, medical care, etc. They sleep huddled together on the street with nothing but the clothes on their back. Many of these children have had to escape abuse and violence. Few orphanages are able and willing to take in these children because they are viewed as beyond help.

Saving Grace in Uganda is a nonprofit organization that rescues abandoned street children as young as 6 years old and gives them medical care, food, a home, an education, and hope in a country with almost no social services.  Their goal is "to end street life in Uganda through rescuing, restoring, and reintegrating street children."
